Leroy and Barb
Leroy and Barb are spending the month of October touring around South East Asia. We have been having a great time showing them around Singapore and also touring with them through Thailand. Tomorrow they leave for 5 days to Vietnam and then from there to Cambodia, soon after that their month will be up and they will head back to Boise! Time flies when you are having fun!

We spent the last couple of days of our Thailand holiday on this small island in the south of Thailand. It was a great way to end the trip!

Elephant Reserve
We spent all day with the elephants! We got to feed them when we first arrived and then they went straight to the river for their bath. After the bath they showed off their skills helping the Thai people work in the jungle and some of them can even paint pictures! After that we went on a 90 minute elephant ride. There are many reserves in Thailand as well as elephant hospitals in order to promote kind treatment to these huge, intelligent animals who are heading towards extinction.
Chiang Rai Temple
We saw many buddist temples on this trip but none of them were quite like this one. This temple was built by a local artist that promised once he became famous he would build his city a temple. Well he kept his promise and it is the most artistic temple we saw! Crossing that bridge behind Barb is supposed to signify crossing over hell and then into the temple is heaven. There are white hands reaching up from hell hoping to be rescued from their doom! Kind of crazy!

The Grand Palace- Bangkok
The Grand Palace was the first thing we saw after our arrival in Thailand. I have seen pictures of the architecture in Thailand but nothing quite prepared me for the beauty or the detail of the mosaics and gold coated figures and temples. It was stunning!
