End of Summer

Singapore Friends!
Our good friends, Mark and Vanessa, came with their kids to visit from Singapore!
It was so fun to see them again and see how their kids are growing up. Made us miss Singapore.

 Jabil BBQ
We hosted 14 of Travis' coworkers and their families for a BBQ at our house. It just happened to be the hottest day of summer and almost beating the hottest day in 100 years! It was hot but it turned out to be a really great afternoon. Travis and I made all the food so they could all experience a traditional American BBQ.

We rented a bouncy house and then a coworker brought a blow up slip and slide. All the kids had a blast and stayed cool!

Sweet Colette
Kaelan and I planted a garden this year and we ended up with a lot of zucchini, tomatoes, cucumber and kale and most is still growing!

Effteling
We spent the day with our friends at Effteling (the Netherlands Disneyland!). Fun for all of us and I
think the baby girls slept for 2 days afterwards!

 Coco's new seat
I finally got brave enough to add the front seat to my bike for Colette! We all love being able to go out on the same bike but I think Colette likes it the most. She can't get enough bike riding now. She is constantly bringing me her bike helmet throughout the day hoping we might go for a ride!

Kaelan finally fits in the Philippines shirt Auntie Belle bought for the kids! Thanks Auntie Belle and we miss you!

Croatia

We took a relaxing, sun filled trip to Croatia this summer to finally get a little sun on our pale skin!
We went with our good friends who moved here in January and had a really good time getting to know them better.

Beach walk in front of our hotel

Everywhere we went these boys had to climb and explore.

The gang
Jennifer and Troy have a 4 (almost 5) year old son that Kaelan adores and also a 23 month old daughter that Colette follows every where. They are all great buddies. We feel so blessed to have found such good friends for all of us here in the Netherlands!

View from our balcony
This is a family resort so everything was fun for the kids including pools, slides, playgrounds indoor and out, zoo, tons of high chairs and meals, kids food, separate sleeping for kids in the rooms, kids club, etc. Made things really easy and fun for all of us!

Pirate ship pool

The girls loved the indoor pool and loved the slide they could do all by themselves

There were 5 pools and 2 of them were wading pools with fun toys for the kids

The boys spent a couple days in the kids club for a few hours and one day the girls went too. So nice for us parents to have a relaxing drink by the pool.

Meal time

We had a small beach in front of our hotel

It took Coco a little while to enjoy the beach but she ended up loving it in the end

She and I were out, waist deep, watching the boys swim and this is what happened! She never does this but it was so hot out and she had her little feet in the water. The waves and the kids playing must have been really soothing to her. Love these sweet moments!

ZADAR
Spent an afternoon in Zadar

Church in Zadar

The girls sharing their gelato. Sweet friends!

The boys had to climb and explore everything

They were hot and sweaty by the end but they didn't care and had so much fun

Watching the "pirate" ship glide by

Zadar is famous for this solar panel light show

KRKA FALLS
We rented a car and drove to a ferry that took us to KRAK national park

The falls were beautiful but it was really hot and there were thousands of people everywhere!

Saying goodbye to our Holiday

We got to the airport with time to spare but after boarding the plane and settling in for 30 mins we were told they were not able to pull the stairs in and shut the door on the airplane. So we got off and were told we had to wait for a mechanic to fly to Croatia from the UK to fix the plane. After 8 hours in a very small budget airport we were all ready to get home. We didn't walk through our door until 1:30am! Fortunately it was a wonderful trip and this little camp out in the airport didn't ruin our fun!
