Keeping up with the K-Man!

Nice shirts!

Finally able to use some of his bday presents properly!

reading books

Auntie Belle would have never allowed this but she was out for the afternoon so I gave K this whole bowl of spaghetti. I think he played more than he ate!

The Unruh's intorduced us to these amazing Korean strawberries. K loves them and has many everyday. I usually cut them up but this time I gave him the whole strawberry and it didn't slow him down!

Highway to the danger zone!
This slide has been a hit around here but now he thinks he needs to stand on top every time he climbs up. I think we are going to send the slide on holiday for a month or so until he can use it properly again.

JAPAN

Our group

Us...Travis, Jessica and Kaelan

The Dentons.
Blake, Camille and Pierce (on Daddy's shoulders!)

The Unruh's
Jamie, Gillian, Violet and Maerk
These guys planned the trip and they did a great job! We had a blast and can't wait to do another trip with this group...that means the Custer's or the Denton's have to step up to the plate to make it happen!

The girls!
Jonabelle and Lea
We couldn't have done it without these two! Jonabelle is our helper here in Singapore and Lea works for the Unruhs. The kids love these girls and we love them too. Thanks for making our trip so much easier!

TOKYO

Awesome Hot Pot dinner on the first night! The Dentons had only been back from the USA for 2 days so they were still jet lagged and stayed back this night.

Kaelan did a lot of sleeping in his backpack. On this evening in Tokyo it was cold and raining but it didn't seem to hinder his sleeping!

Jonabelle and I...with Kaelan sleeping behind me!

Travis and the Shinkansen, Japan's bullet train.
We made it to Nagano in 1.5 hours on this stealthy train!

NAGANO

We spent 4 nights in Nagano.
Travis and I skiied for 2 days and then spent the 3rd day visiting the snow monkeys in the area. The skiing was excellent and it was fun to do some of the runs they used for the 1998 Olympics. Pretty cool being there during the current 2010 Winter Olympics!

Kaelan driving the Taxi cab!

On the second day in the mountains we met the kids at lunch for a little sledding. Kaelan took a pretty major spill with Daddy on the sled. Pretty much used his head for a break! Yikes! He didn't even really cry. I think he was stunned but he didn't like sledding much after that either! You can see a picture of his owie below!

SNOW MONKEYS!

This is the only place in the world you can see snow monkeys!
We had to take an hour and a half bus ride and then hike 30 minutes to see them but it was worth it!

Soaking in the Onsen

Only Camille, Pierce, Kaelan, Travis and I took the trip to the snow monkeys. The other two boys couldn't stay away from the slopes and Gillian broke her arm the day before.

No, your eye's aren't deceiving you! Pierce really ate that locust...and then he asked his mommy if he could have another one! He had 2 and Travis ate 1! YUCKY!

Carrying 2!
Kaelan spent a lot of time on our backs but the best part was when another one wanted up too!

Our home (Azekura Lodge) for three nights in Hakuba (Nagano).
This was a great place! Perfect for the kids to hang out and play while we hit the slopes!

The Onsen out the front door of our lodge.
Onsen=Mineral bath or Hot springs. Awesome after skiing!

Best Sushi dinner EVER!
These pictures are taken with the sushi chef/owner. He was a crack up!

This is a good shot of Gillian's arm! Yes, she did break it on the slopes. She decided to try snow boarding but after a couple runs fell backwards downhill and landed just right on her wrist. Poor thing. She was such a good sport about it, even when she was toting around her 2 kids and all that comes with them!

Matsumoto
Oldest Castle in Japan
The last of the 3 cities we visited

On our last train!
I think we took 5 trains, 2 buses, 2 airplanes, the metro in Tokyo and multiple taxis. The kiddos did great!
Planes, trains and automobiles!

On the plane last night on our way home. K just woke from 5 hours of sleep but needed a little music to get him through the end of the flight! This is also a good view of his scab from his sledding adventure!

What have we been up to?

My Boys!

Kaelan playing in the sand on Sentosa (and occasionally eating it!)

A walk through the children's garden at the Botanical Gradens

He found his old swing in the guest room and climbed right in! I think he misses it!

We have been pretty busy getting back into the swing of things here in Singapore! The last 3 weeks seem like a blink of an eye and now in 2 days we are heading on a ski holiday in Japan. I figured I better get this posted before I overwhelm this site with Japan pics!
Kaelan is doing great! He loves to be outside...he can't get enough. Lately he has been leading me down the hall to the door saying bye-bye. So I take him out at least twice a day and one of those outings he gets out of the stroller to explore on his own. He loves it! Our apartment is centrally located so we can walk everywhere. I'm throughly wearing out my stroller which I'm pretty positive would be hard to do back in Boise...unless I walked with Kelly everyday!
Travis has been doing well also. He has traveled 2 of the 4 weeks he has been back in Singapore but now he gets to take a week off (minus the blackberry in hand, laptop at night and occasional conference call!) to play in Japan! He has been pretty busy with work but we have had some great times with friends on the weekends and I know he likes that.
I have jumped right back into the hectic but extremely wonderful life of an expat wife! Babygroup once a week, MOPS twice a month, two Bible studies and the loads of Kaelan activities.
Travis and I have found that our weekend activities completely revolve around Kaelan and we wouldn't have it any other way. He is in love with his daddy which is so cute. He will not let Travis rest when he is home. Travis has to constantly be reading, playing ball, holding or roughing him up and Travis loves every minute of it! I couldn't ask for a better Daddy for my baby! I get K all day and I'm still obsessed with him! Sometimes I wonder if it is healthy how much I love that little thing. I guess that's what it means to be a mom...
