The Maldives

Travis and I spent our 10 year anniversary in the Maldives. We decided to take advantage of our wonderful babysitters (Travis' parents are in Singapore!) and run away for awhile. The Maldives really do live up to the hype. I have never had a better beach vacation or seen water more beautiful than here in the Maldives. Since there were only 100 guests at our resort (it holds 130 total) and 80% of those were honey mooners we practically had the place to ourselves.

If only the pictures could do the water and beaches justice.
I hope you can appreciate how beautiful it was.

Yea! 10 years!

View from bathtub!
Travis and I spent a lot of time reading, swimming and snorkling from the back patio.

Bathroom
The toilet and shower are off to the right. They were open to the outside with glass all around you so you can see the water below.

The window in our villa floor. We really did see tropical fish through this window!

Travis snorkled off the deck at our villa. From the villa we saw sea turtles, sting ray and dolphins.

On our snorkling tour we saw a pod of spinner dolphins.

It was a 4 hour flight on Singapore Air from Singapore to Male leaving at 8:30pm. Then we got on this domestic flight, 16 seater, for 50 mins. Finally we took a 50 minute boat ride to the resort arriving at 6:30am Singapore time. It was brutal but worth it!

Mammy's trip to Singapore

Riding the tram at the zoo after getting stuck in the rain for about 1.5 hours. Can you tell we got a little wet?

We decided to do the water park at the zoo no matter the rain. We were already wet, right?

Mammy discovered an amusment park on the east end of Singapore that we had to check out. Kaelan was suffering from small temerature and a bad temper from a vaccination but he had a great time.

Learning to use chop sticks!
Mammy decided Kaelan needed to start working on his chop stick skills since he lives in Asia so she bought him a starter kit. He actually managed to make it work a couple times!

We took a quick day trip to visit Jaya and his beautiful family in Malaysia! Thanks Jaya for having us and making my mom's visit to Asia special! Your family is wonderful and your wife's cooking is beyond words! Kiss your kids for me!

Last Supper with Mammy.
We miss you so much. We had such a great time with you and hate that Kaelan does not have his favorite Mammy to boss around! I'm glad you made it home and can't wait for you to come in March for baby number two! Wink wink!
