Food for Thought

Well here it is...Kaelan's first experience at eating some rice cereal! We've noticed lately that he has been getting more and more interested in our food and what we eat. During a meal, we often catch him following the path of our food from the plate to our mouth with intense interest. It's funny to watch as he so intently studies what we're doing. Travis has been giving him sips from his water bottle at times and Kaelan just loves it and will often grasp at the bottle for more! Anyway, for his first time, Kaelan did a great job don't you think?

Trying Desperately to Crawl

Kaelan is getting so close to crawling it's almost scary. Right now, it almost always results in him planting his face on the ground and pushing with his legs but he is VERY close. I think it's about time to start "baby proofing" the house!

You Gotta Wear Shades

We decided to head down to the pool for a little fun in the sun this afternoon. After his little nap in the shade, Kaelan was convinced he wanted to take Daddy's sunglasses so we placed them on him and Kaelan just loved it! He didn't want to pull them off or anything...he just laughed, and laughed, and laughed at this new discovery!

Thanks Grandpa Hanna and Grandma Ronda for this cute outfit! It is a 6 month outfit and I'm just about 6 months...can you believe it still fits me?!!!

A Few Firsts!

Bath time has changed in the last couple days. He used to lie on a hammock type thing (pictured below) that stretched over the little tub and we would spray him down. Now that he is almost sitting and loves the water he gets to sit in the tub full of water! He loves it and I manage to get a shower too...the joys!

The old way

Like I said before, he is well on his way to sitting on his own so we decided to try out his high chair (given to us by Salma! Thanks and we miss you!). He really enjoyed sitting at the table with us. It won't be too long until he will get his first bite. We will keep you posted on that!

Lunch with daddy!

The last first, or the 3rd of the few, was yesterday when he rolled from his back to his tummy for the first time! (he has been doing tummy to the back for awhile now) I can't keep up with all these new adventures! I feel like I barely have time to get it down in the calendar before I'm racing back to watch something else. I guess I better not blink!

Giggly Boy

One thing about K is that he is a REALLY happy boy. I finally figured out how to post a video so you can now experience K's giggles yourself! This video was taken on our flight to Bali. If you've seen the movie "Liar Liar" with Jim Carey, well Travis does "the claw" to Kaelan and you can just see the anticipation in his eyes before he erupts in giggles. Check it out...

Beautiful Bali!

While Travis' parents were here we headed to Bali for 4 days and it was awesome! Everything is so beautiful from the beaches to terraced rice fields and the unique temples. We really had a great time relaxing...What a wonderful place to spend my first Mother's day!

The Conrad...our resort. I would definitely go back to this place!

Our room. I just wanted to show you this picture because K had his own bed! So cute. We put his tent on the bed which was much better than having him on the floor!

Almost forgot these photos!

This is called Fly Fish. We had never seen it before so Travis, of course, had to do it and since I can't be left behind I did it too! We went 3 rounds and each time was higher than the last. Funny stuff.

A view of the twin lakes with Grandpa and Grandma

Beautiful rice fields cover the plains and the mountians

We had dinner on the beach with a beautiful view of the sunset and ocean. This couple was sitting right in front of us and after being seranaded by a local band he proposed to her! It was so sweet...he cried and you can bet that I did too!

My little lovebug!

Beach time!

Kaelan's first time in the ocean was in Bali! What a lucky little fella!

They had these awesome cabanas by the pools for us to settle in to for a day at the beach!

"This is the life!" must be his thoughts at the moment!
K sleeps in this tent at night when we are traveling but it also comes in handy outside to block the sun.

Cool Kite!

Hong Kong

We decided, last minute, to go to Hong Kong for the weekend for a few reasons. First of all Leroy and Barb were finishing their 2 week China tour in HK and had a free day to tour. Second, we were anxious to see Candy and Kenny's (Travis' co-workers) new baby girl. And third, Cecilia offered her place for us to stay again...this was probably only because she wanted to see Kaelan! We had a great time touring with the little guy, he is such a little trooper!

Macau

Our first day there we decided to take the ferry over to Macau, China for some sight seeing. Macau is known for gambling but there is also a lot of history with the Portugese and Dutch.

Travis with his new Rolls!

Casinos
Since Kaelan was with us we were not able to spend any time in the casinos. Travis was hoping to win some big bucks at the black jack table but fortunately for Kaelan we were able to keep all the money we came with!

MGM was our favorite
