Kaelan's first bday presents

Kaelan turns 1 in a week!

Thanks Mom and Dad for the tunnel!

Thanks Sam, Zayden and Audrey for the super fun slide!
I can almost do it all by myself and I definitely love to climb all over it!

Thanks Aunt Mille!
I love the Backpack, Big Boy Sippy Cup and Book!

Thanks Henry and Kyle for the super cool tractor and farm animals!

We had a small bday party planned for K with the baby group but unfortunately K got sick. I think it is just due to him getting his 8th tooth but I didn't want to expose the other babies just in case. Yes, 8 teeth! And you can kind of see in these pictures the slobbery, runny nose mess he has been. We hope this clears before we get on the plane on Monday...we will see.

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at our house with the Singapore Supper Club. This is a group of 12 that has dinner together once a month rotating houses. I asked for November to be our month to host so of course we had to do Thanksgiving! It turned out to be a great night! 10 of the 12 could make it but unfortunately one couple had to leave early due to their son cracking his elbow while home with the babysitter. Poor little guy. Thanks for a great night and we are looking forward to the next one in Jan...painting plates!

Bible Study!

Yes, this is my Thursday morning Bible Study! Our study was on a book called "Do you think I'm Beautiful?" So we thought it best to end the semester feeling beautiful getting our nails done! What a great group of ladies...I'm going to miss you!

Photo Shoot

We tried to take Kaelan out to do a quick 11 month photo shoot downstairs on the apartment's property. Unfortunately he had 20 mins until his nap and all he wanted to do was lead Daddy around the grounds. Daddy was obviously not going where he wanted to go! He was perfectly happy when he had the lead!

Cruise to Istanbul

Starring: Barry Glitter buns and Fifi Galores

Staff on the MV Tipanic

from left: Trikki, Sally, Tilly, Wanda, Lola and Fifi.

Barry, Al Fresco, Sylvester, Rusty, Captain Birdseye, Walter Ski

You may be wondering what's going on in these pictures. I'm tempted to leave you and let them speak for themselves but I just can't! Especially when Travis is dressed as Barry Glitterbuns! Who is he, you may ask? Well, he is an entertainer on the MV Tipanic and, more importantly, he murdered Stew Driver. Can you believe it...Barry, of all people? Well, he drowned him in the pool and we spent the evening in Captain Birdseye's dining hall trying to figure it out.
Any clue to what's going on?
Last night we showed up, in costume, to a murder mystery dinner. As I said before, Travis was Barry, the murderer, and I was Wanda Lust. I was the ship's masseuse and not a very respectable one. We had a lot of fun trying to stay in character and figure out the clues to the murder. Poor Stew.
Thanks Sally and Rusty (Jenn and Tobi) for planning this awesome, memorable night!

Proof!!!!

I can't believe how fast things are moving with this little man...way, way to fast for my liking. I'm always so excited for every new stage and love looking back at how far he has come.

The Armstrongs

The Armstrongs came up from Indonesia to stay with us for a few days this week. They came for medical visits and surgery on Luke's shoulder. I'm not sure if they all conspired before they got here or what but they knew exactly what it would take to make a permanent place in my heart. They went straight for the baby! All four of them played with Kaelan incessantly...he was so busy while they were here and I have to give them credit for Kaelan's progress in walking. I'm tempted to say that today he is officially walking but he still lacks total confidence, I think he misses the Armstrongs! Because of them he had lots of practice, way more than I'm willing to give on a normal day, and now he can stand for a good length of time and take about 8 steps before he realizes what he's doing. Thanks guys...we miss you already. Even if it hadn't been for Kaelan I still wouldn't have been able to resist loving this family. Incredible parents and if my kids turned out anything like their's I would be extremely happy. They made a huge impact on us in the few short days they were here and we hope to keep up our relationship. Please come back and see us anytime, medical or not! We hope to come your way soon too.

So so cute!
Kaelan had his lunch and was ready to go so Anna took Kaelan out to walk around then Luke joined. Kaelan loved it and didn't want to stop. He was hot and sweaty when we headed home for his nap. I don't have photos of Nick and Laura walking him around but they definitely did their share. They were all so attentive to him and seemed to really enjoy him. I know he loved them! He would get so happy when they woke up in the mornings or came in the front door!

Anna was so sweet with Kaelan. He adored her. What I would give to have her around to babysit!

Even after surgery Luke still wanted to play with Kaelan and K man could not get enough of him!

Happy Halloween!

We actually went trick or treating!
We have some friends who live out in the Woodlands, where the American school is located and half hour drive from us (that is really far on our small island!). A lot of American families live in gigantic houses next to the school and every year this neighborhood attracts hundreds of trick or treaters. We started at a bbq at our friend's house but hurried out to gather some candy before the looming cloud opened up to soak the streets! We made it with time to spare. We had a great night! Below are some pictures of the houses. They are huge, 5,000sq+, built by Singaporeans who believe this is how we live in the States! Ha!

I have to admit...I'm always happy when Halloween is over every year. I'm kind of a scaredy cat when it comes scary things! I used to be able to handle scary movies but not anymore...not even close! I love to watch the movie channels when Travis is out of town but that didn't happen this month, October. Too many scary movies. As a matter of fact, last night, Halloween, Travis turned it to a REALLY scary movie that he was actually interested in. He usually won't torture me but I was reading and he didn't think I was paying attention. It is hard not too when the crazy, possesd lady comes on talking like she did! I was hiding behind my book, never looking at the screen, constantly asking what was going on! Guess who had nightmares, not Travis who actually watched the movie! My brain made up it's own images to those scary sounds. Don't tell me, I already know. I'm a dork!
