The Claymore

This one is great too! It is the largest of the 3 at 2680 sq feet. It has a private lift and lift lobby for stollers and shoes, large kitchen, dining room and living room, really everything is big with that much square footage. Great well maintained facilities that have all been remodeled, it is excellent for families and the best, most central location. The very best part is there is no construction, at the moment! And the not so good parts: It is more than 20 years old, very old for Singapore, it only has three bedrooms that are all in the same hall (still great for guests so keep those bags packed!), it is just a bit out of our price range but they are slowly coming down, it is only on the 7th floor (Dad you are EXPECTED at this one!) and that is all I can think of there.

Cairnhill Crest

I hate to even describe this one because it will be everyone's favorite...it is the pent house! Not only that but it has an unobstructed view of the city with a huge balcony perfect for watching the fire works that they shoot off for any odd occasion here. It is a 2 story, 2400 sq foot, 2 year old condo with only one couple, who we know personally, that lived there before us. The humungous master is upstairs with 2 rooms down stairs (with an ensuite bathroom for the guest room so board the plane we are ready for you!). The kitchen is twice the size as our current kitchen and the list goes on...this one is incredible! Ok back to reality, let me tell you the negatives. It has 4 construction sites around it (this includes the very, very, very loud part of tearing down buildings and placing pylons) the construction is so bad that on the 19th floor, in our beautiful pent house, the walls are cracking from the movement! The only other bad thing is that, since living in Singapore, we are used to perfection when it comes to maintenance and this is not the case for the grounds and pools of this complex. It is really rough around the edges, even for an Idaho girl!
We have actually made up our minds on which one we want so I am not going to take your guesses, or preferences! We are still not sure we will get it but I am looking at it again today to work out the funny little, only in this town, kinks we have to work through. So drum roll please...we love, adore and can't seem to be happy anywhere other than The Claymore! Can you believe it! We sure couldn't but when we sat down for lunch on Saturday after our search Travis pointed out the very obvious, but never to leave my prideful lips, that it was our egos that were holding us back. Who wouldn't want to say they lived in a penthouse with such amazing qualities? Well, I guess it is not a bad second to fall back on but I really love The Claymore and was so relieved when Travis pointed out my sins! My nesting instincts hope more than anything that we get it!

The claymore was my favorite from the beginnning! GREAT choice! It will be beautiful! 20 years may be old for Singapore, but our condo is almost 40 years old!
